Fellow golfers,
Painted Hills Golf Course is beginning its thirteenth year serving the golfing community of Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and the nearby provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. Every golfer, male or female, novice or experienced, is welcomed and appreciated by the staff and me.
Our turf on the greens, fairways, and rough has matured tremendously, as have the 600 plus trees over these past thirteen years and the course is starting to develop some of the challenge that was intended. The next five years will see a real change in the influence of the tree-lined rough as the trees start to reach even further into the sky.
Everyone at Painted Hills Golf Course is proud of our history and impact on golfing in the Spokane area and hopes to continue being recognized for our achievements, some of which are listed below:
- We were the first course in Spokane to become registered with the
Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, installing twenty-eight bird nests throughout
the eighty-six acres of the course.
- We were also the first course in Spokane to reduce fees for power cart
rentals during all operating hours ($6 per nine holes).
- Painted Hills was rated as the most improved golf course in the Spokane area five out of the last
nine years according to the 'Book of Lists' published by the 'Spokane Journal of Business'.
- Painted Hills Golf Course participated in the inner-city junior golfing program during 1993 and 1994
- We're also active in other junior programs including a partnership with
University High School which has increased participation in their golf program
from under ten golfers to a program now exceeding sixty team members each year.
At Painted Hills Golf Course we want to be not only a good member
of the local golfing community, but also a good member of the local neighborhood community.
We are members of the local Chester Creek Drainage Study Committee and will continue
to participate in the protection and enhancement of one of the most valued assets
of the drainage basin running through the golf course, Chester Creek.
Please come and enjoy our facilities. Meet new and interesting people and enjoy not only the environment surrounding our golf course but also the beauty surrounding Spokane.
